HR Generalist I
Enters, maintains, and coordinates data such as applicant, salary, and benefits transactions using a Human Resources Information Management System (PeopleSoft).Participates in hiring program activities, including, but not limited to managing job openings, screening employment applications, assisting in interviewing, and facilitating the hiring process.Coordinates and conducts employee forums, new employee orientation, annual benefit enrollment, and human resources-related meetings.Informs employees of changes affecting pay and benefits.Represents the Department at job and benefits fairs and internal and external committeesResponds to and processes requests and inquiries from employees for various human resources activities and programs.Serve as point of contact for certain HR Programs.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
HR Generalist II
All of the above and:
Interprets human resources policies and procedures and pertinent state/federal rules and regulations with guidance from Supervisor or Lead Worker.Responds to inquiries and complaints regarding human resources policies and procedures.Responds to and processes requests and inquiries from employees for various human resources activities and programs.Provides guidance to management on sensitive issues in areas, such as substance abuse and employee discipline.Keeps abreast of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.Review and manage routine and complex medical related employee needs, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: No experience required.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

employees with benefits, unemployment claims, visiting field sections, conducting new employee orientation, managing leave, employee relations, and assisting with various HR programs and projects. Other responsibilities may include interpreting policy, talent development, training, and delivering presentations. This position will day travel 25% to visit other sections of this Department along with very minimal overnight travel.
HR Generalist I, B19, $ 55,800 – $61,000HR Generalist II, B21, $61,800 – $72,000
